As part of the “Good Evening, Science” series, Mateja A. Kegel, Project Manager at AAE Gamit, participated in an engaging panel discussion focusing on society’s green and sustainable transformation. The event, held under the theme of renewable energy and sustainability, emphasized the crucial role of renewable energy sources like wind and solar in Slovenia’s energy future.
The panel, moderated by Marko Jeran, a researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute, consisted of associate Prof. Dr. Tjaša Pogačar, meteorologist; University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Biotechnics, Department of Agronomy, Chair of Agrometeorology, Agricultural Spatial Planning and Rural Economics and Development; prof. Robert Domniko, PhD, chemist; Institute of Chemistry, Ljubljana, Department of Materials Chemistry, Laboratory for Advanced Battery Systems; University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Ljubljana and ALISTORE-ERI CNRS research network on advanced battery technologies, Amiens, France; mag. Ana Vučina Vršnak, Executive Director of the Energy Chamber of Slovenia, long-time follower and commentator on the Slovenian and international energy markets, author of the book Energy of Slovenia: overview of the Situation, trends and Challenges in the energy sector, and co-author of other energy books; and Mateja A. Kegel, EMBA, project manager at the AAE Gamit – the company develops, operates and invests in wind and solar power plants, co-author of four energy technical books on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
Mateja A. Kegel highlighted AAE Gamit’s efforts in advancing renewable energy projects, including wind and solar power, and the importance of a balanced energy mix. She shared insights into the challenges of implementing large-scale renewable projects in Slovenia and emphasized the need for faster bureaucratic processes and greater community involvement. The discussion also touched upon the future of renewable energy in Slovenia, focusing on its potential to enhance energy independence and support the transition to a low-carbon society.
This event provided an excellent platform for AAE Gamit to showcase its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in the energy sector while contributing to a broader conversation on the future of green energy in Slovenia and beyond.
